This 1930 film is a condensed biopic dramatizing Abraham Lincoln's life through vignettes of its defining chapters, from his romance with Ann Rutledge and early years as a country lawyer to his presidency during the American Civil War and assassination at Ford’s Theatre. The film covers little-known aspects of Lincoln's early life, such as his depression after Ann Rutledge's death and his unexplained end to his engagement with Mary Todd.
