Two years after their last adventure, Nick Persons has married Suzanne Kingston and moved his new family into a 3-bedroom house in the suburbs. However, things quickly go awry as they discover mold infestations and other problems with the home, leading to a series of misadventures involving eccentric contractor Chuck Mitchell Jr. As tensions rise between Nick and his wife, he must also contend with his daughter Lindsey's rebellious streak and her budding romance with one of Chuck's employees, while ultimately learning to put family first and finish the house.
