In 1944, Allied forces launched Operation Market Garden, a daring attempt to end World War II by securing three bridges in Holland, allowing access over the Rhine into Germany. The operation's fate was sealed from the start, marred by poor intelligence and the presence of two crack German panzer divisions that would prove too much for the Allies to overcome. As the plan unfolded, British paratroopers were dropped behind enemy lines, while armored forces advanced across the Netherlands, only to be met with fierce resistance at every turn.
