In the eerie and unsettling "A Holy Place" (1990), a reluctant theology student Toma is drawn into a mysterious and forbidden love affair with Katarina, the daughter of a powerful feudal lord, ultimately leading to her untimely demise. Trapped in a surreal cycle of grief and obligation, Toma is compelled to read prayers over Katarina's body for three consecutive nights, his very presence summoning dark forces that threaten to consume him. As he struggles to reconcile faith and desire, the boundaries between life and death begin to blur in this haunting exploration of the human condition.
