In 15th century England, Tony Curtis plays Myles Falworth, a young man raised as a peasant who discovers his true identity and learns to become a knight at Macworth Castle under the tutelage of Sir James (Torin Thatcher). As Myles trains to be a knight, he falls in love with Lady Anne (Janet Leigh), the daughter of the castle's owner, William, Earl of Mackworth (Herbert Marshall). After proving his worth, Myles is awarded the right to trial by combat against the evil Earl of Alban (David Farrar) and successfully defeats him, ultimately restoring his family name, rank, and lands.
