Guy Pearce stars as Jack Irish, a lawyer who is hired by a judge to find a mysterious red book. Irish becomes embroiled in a world of nightclub owners, drug dealers, killers, and other shady characters when he takes on the case. As Jack delves deeper, he discovers that anyone who touches the book appears to be murdered, while his own personal life becomes increasingly complicated with the reappearance of his ex, Linda Hillier (Marta Dusseldorp).
