In "Elisa's Day," Sergeant Fai (Ronald Cheng Chung-Kei), a veteran policeman, is haunted by a mistake from 20 years ago when investigating a crime-of-passion murder case involving Elisa (Hanna Chan), the mother of his current partner Daisy (Carol To). As he re-examines the past, Fai recalls his earlier involvement with Elisa's case and its connection to Wai (Tony Wu), a suspect who was later revealed to be Elisa's ex-lover.
