An American ballerina arrives in Hungary to enroll in a prestigious ballet school, only to find herself under the sinister influence of its ghostly and manipulative choreographer and director. As she becomes increasingly entangled in a web of mystery and possession, her identity is slowly consumed by that of a former prima ballerina who died under tragic circumstances. A loose retelling of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake unfolds, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy as Claire's grip on her own sanity begins to slip.
