Detectives Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) and Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) of the Miami Narcotics Task Force investigate the flow of illegal drugs into Miami, tracking them to Cuban drug lord Johnny Tapia (Jordi Mollà), who is also involved in a bloody war with Russian and Haitian mobsters. The duo's partnership is put to the test when Marcus discovers that Mike is secretly dating his sister Syd (Gabrielle Union). As they delve deeper into the case, they engage in a massive gun battle and car chase through downtown Miami, ultimately rescuing Syd from Tapia's clutches and bringing him down in a thrilling finale.
