A retired entertainer, played by Peter Sellers, makes his living as a street musician on the streets of London, but his life takes a colorful turn when two young children befriend him, brightening his otherwise lonely existence. The old musician, Sam, strikes up a friendship with Liz and Mark, who live nearby in a drab flat with their struggling single mother and baby brother. As they spend more time together, Sam develops an unlikely bond with the children, teaching them valuable lessons about life, love, and loyalty, while also finding companionship in his elderly trained dog Bella.
