Walter Pearce (Ray Liotta) is a loving husband and father whose life unravels after he cheats on his wife Deborah (Glenne Headly). With nowhere else to go, he moves in with his next-door neighbor Skylar Eckerman (Shaun Sipos), a star football player struggling to come to terms with his own self-centeredness. As they help each other appreciate what they've taken for granted, Walter rediscovers the importance of family and works to win back his wife and daughters.
