A Senegalese taxi driver named Solo (Souléymane Sy Savané) takes a job from a depressed old man named William (Red West), who intends to commit suicide by jumping off a peak in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. As Solo tries to persuade William to reconsider his decision, he introduces William's family, including his wife Alex (Diana Franco Galindo). Despite the efforts of this multilingual and multicultural connection, William ultimately does not return from the trip, leaving Solo to wonder if he was able to save him or simply provide a distraction.
