Tough lieutenant Jim Brannigan (John Wayne) of the Chicago Police Department is sent to London to extradite a notorious American mobster, Ben Larkin. Brannigan is assigned a local officer, Detective-Sergeant Jennifer Thatcher (Judy Geeson), to help while he is in London. But before Brannigan can collect his man, Larkin is kidnapped.
