Four young friends — fashion photographers Brian and Tyson, Brian's medical student wife Noelle, and fashion model Jennifer, who is referred to by the nickname "Atheria" — travel deep into the desert for a photography session, only to be stranded after a devastating car crash. As they succumb to dehydration and desperation, their civility rapidly deteriorates, leading to shocking betrayals in a desperate bid for survival. Noelle's pregnancy becomes a catalyst for one of the film's most haunting moments, as Brian makes an unthinkable sacrifice to save his wife's life. In the end, it is Jennifer who provides a glimmer of hope, but only after her own body is ravaged by wolves and left behind in the desert.
