In Stereo, a group of Canadian university students agree to participate in a parapsychological experiment, which renders them incapable of speech but allows them to communicate telepathically through polymorphous sexual relationships. As they develop their abilities, the experimenters struggle to control the progress of the experiment, leading to tragic consequences. Clara Mayer's secondary personality becomes increasingly dominant, culminating in the film's haunting finale.
