Hercules and his friend Iolaus arrive at a village under attack by "monsters", which are revealed to be Amazonian women controlled by Hera. The women, led by Hippolyta, have split from their misogynistic husbands and aligned themselves with the goddess. Hercules and the Amazons engage in a series of battles, culminating in Hercules' realization that his attitude towards women is wrong and his subsequent escape.
