Retired military officer Jill Wagner plays Caroline Upton, enlisted by antiques store owner Paul Greene's character Russell Carlisle to find Orin Newton's family before Christmas, as he awaits his loved one Alice back home and holds precious personal artifacts. Epaulettes and insignia initially provide clues, but the search dead ends when Caroline discovers Orin was listed as MIA. The love letters from Alice then serve as a key to unraveling what happened to Orin and whether he ever made it home.
