A Greek comedy-drama film, "The Summer with Carmen" follows two close gay friends, Demosthenes and Nikitas, as they spend a day lounging in the sun at Athens' queer beach, trying to come up with an idea for Nikitas' first feature film inspired by a rescue dog named Karmen. As they recall past summers, including one where Demosthenes reconnected with his ex-boyfriend Panos, they begin to question the rules of screenplay theory and give a twist to their enduring friendship.
