In the year 2898 AD, in a dystopian future, Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan) gears up for his final battle of redemption to protect the unborn child of SUM-80 (Deepika Padukone), believed to be Kalki, the final incarnation of Vishnu. Bhairava (Prabhas), a wisecracking and self-interested bounty hunter, becomes entangled in this process after being hired by Supreme Yaskin (Kamal Haasan) to capture SUM-80. As they journey together from the city of Kashi to the hidden kingdom of Shambhala, Bhairava discovers his true past life as Karna, and with his newfound divine combat skills, single-handedly decimates the Raider forces to protect Sumathi.
