The film "Exploding Sun" follows the crew and passengers on board the Roebling Clipper, a privately funded spacecraft on its maiden voyage to the Moon, as it is struck by a massive solar flare that sends it hurtling towards the sun. With the help of First Lady Simone Mathany (Julia Ormond) and space-exploration entrepreneur Steve Roebling (David James Elliott), the crew must find a way to survive the catastrophic effects of the solar storm and prevent its devastating impact on Earth.
