Martha Sagell (Marthe Keller), a young composer Max Riemelt as Jo and Bruno Ganz as his grandfather, forms a platonic bond with Martha in her isolated villa on Ibiza, where she has lived for decades due to traumatic experiences of Nazi Germany. As they develop a connection, the two learn about each other's pasts, including Jo's grandfather's role in atrocities. The film explores their reactions and growth through their unlikely friendship, set against the backdrop of electronic music and German poetry.
