A quirky Sri Lankan family of four — Dharmadas "Das", his wife Vasanthi, and their sons Nithushan "Nithu" and Mulli "Mulli" — flee their native Jaffna, via Valvettithurai, seeking refuge in India through Rameswaram. They pose as Malayalis to Inspector Raghavan, who leases them a vacant floor of his house, but soon find a way to connect with their neighbors despite their fear of being exposed. Through their kindness and infectious love, they transform the neighborhood into a vibrant community, earning the respect and appreciation of those around them.
