17-year-old Andy and his visually impaired step-sister Piper find their father dead in the shower after he's been undergoing treatment for cancer. They're sent to live with eccentric foster mother Laura, who's also fostering a pre-teen boy named Oliver, whose deceased daughter Cathy was also blind and drowned in their backyard pool. As they settle into their new life, Andy becomes unsettled by both Laura's strange behavior and her favouritism toward Piper, which leads him to uncover a terrifying secret: Laura is hiding an occult ritual that will bring back the dead - but at a terrible cost to Piper herself.
