The film "Sira" (2023) tells the story of young Fulani girl Sira, who after a brutal attack by terrorists is taken captive and forced into a life of survival and resistance. Nafissatou Cissé stars as Sira, a character whose strength and resilience inspire hope in the face of unimaginable hardship. The film was written and directed by Apolline Traoré and had its world premiere at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the Panorama Audience Award for Best Feature Film.
