A former captain, suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, lives with his daughter in a seaside house. One morning, he destroys the house and shoves his daughter to the ground. She packs a suitcase, but is interrupted by finding a beached whale. The father attempts to rescue the whale, while his daughter cares for it. In the end, they successfully save the whale by tying its tail to the captain's ship, allowing him to finally set it free.
