Abe, a man in his thirties, lives at home with his parents and works regretfully for his father while pursuing his hobby of collecting toys. He meets suicidal Miranda, who recently moved back home after a failed literary/academic career and a divorce, and proposes marriage despite having no shot. Abe's relationship with Miranda is marked by uncertainty and misunderstandings, including her revelation that she has hepatitis B, which may have put him at risk of catching it. The film follows Abe's downward spiral as he faces a series of personal and professional failures, ultimately leading to a shocking twist that challenges his perception of himself and his relationships.
