A group of lifeguards and construction workers are stranded in the high water after an underwater earthquake generates a tsunami that brings prehistoric-looking goblin sharks to the surface in Malibu. Heather, played by Peta Wilson, fights for survival alongside Chavez, Jenny, Bryan, Doug, and Barb as they try to escape the shark-infested waters. The group faces numerous challenges and loses several members, but eventually manages to trap and kill the final shark.
