In 1000 BC Bethlehem, Israel, David is a young musician from the Tribe of Judah who tends his father Jesse's flock of sheep. After protecting the flock from an Asian lion that is stalking them, David is called before the prophet Samuel, who anoints him as the future King of Israel and prophesizes that he'll become king when he comes of age.
