The Savage Is Loose (1974) is a drama film about a husband, wife, and their son who become stranded on a remote island after their ship crashes during a storm in 1902. Over the years, the family's dynamics change dramatically as the son, now a teenage boy, grows into puberty and develops strong feelings for his mother, Maida (Trish Van Devere), which leads to tension between him and his father, John (George C. Scott).
