"This Boy Caught A Merman" is a 2012 Japanese animated film that tells the story of Shima Kawauchi (Yuki Kaji), a 17-year-old high school student who forms an unlikely bond with Isaki (Hikaru Midorikawa), a merman he meets while saving his life. Despite their differences, they begin to open up to each other, but love across species is not simple. As Shima and Isaki navigate their feelings for each other, they must also confront the challenges of their respective worlds.
