In this powerful documentary, the lives of three Cuban transsexuals – Odette, Juani, and Malú – are woven together by their shared wait for genital surgery in Havana, a city where politics and personal identity intersect. Led by president's daughter Mariela Castro, Cuba is poised on the cusp of a sexual revolution that promises to challenge outdated norms. Yet, as these individuals face the harsh realities of poverty, prostitution, and intolerance, they must confront the uncertainty of finding happiness amidst the complexities of their new era. Will these brave women find solace in the pursuit of medical care, or will societal pressures continue to define their lives?
