Alfredo del Diestro
Biography
Alfredo del Diestro was a Chilean actor and film director born in Valparaíso, Chile on October 7, 1885, who spent his adolescence in Havana with his parents before returning to Colombia as a young man. He co-directed the silent feature film María in 1922 with Francisco Antonio Posada, and later gained recognition for his performance in 1936's "Allá en el rancho grande". Del Diestro worked extensively in Mexico, directing several notable films including "La llorona" (1933) and "Neither Blood Nor Sand" (1941). He died in Mexico City in 1951.
