Bethany Hamilton

Biography

Bethany Hamilton is a professional surfer who overcame a devastating shark attack in 2003 that left her without her left arm. She returned to competitive surfing and wrote about her experience in the bestselling autobiography "Soul Surfer: A True Story of Faith, Family, and Fighting to Get Back on the Board." The book was adapted into the 2011 feature film Soul Surfer, which further cemented her inspirational story.
