Biography

Park Chan-wook is a renowned South Korean filmmaker and former film critic, widely regarded as a leading figure in South Korean and 21st-century world cinema. His breakthrough came with the acclaimed third directorial effort, Joint Security Area (2000), followed by the critically acclaimed Vengeance Trilogy, which cemented his reputation. Park has since directed numerous commercially and critically successful films, earning him awards including the BAFTA for Best Film Not in the English Language and Best Director at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.
