Brigitte Kausch was a German director, actress, and artist born on January 10, 1939, in Insterburg, Ostpreußen. She found refuge with her family after the Second World War, settling in Hamburg, where they eventually found a new home in Düren, near the Dutch border. Brigitte Kausch's artistic career was influenced by her encounter with Joseph Beuys, which shaped her extravagant style, and she later married film critic and art enthusiast.
