Erik Estrada is an American actor and former police officer born on March 16, 1949, to Carmen Moreno and Renildo Estrada in East Harlem. He rose to fame with his lead role as California Highway Patrol officer Ponch Poncherello in the hit police drama series CHiPs from 1977 to 1983. Estrada has since appeared in various projects, including Spanish-language telenovelas, reality TV shows, and Adult Swim's Sealab 2021.
