Russ Doughten

Biography

Russell S. Doughten Jr. was an American filmmaker and producer of numerous short and feature-length Christian films, best known for his four-part series A Thief in the Night, which dramatizes the Rapture and Second Coming of Christ. Born February 16, 1927, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, he worked on films such as The Blob and produced a low-budget but influential body of work that has been credited with influencing Christian fundamentalist interpretations of the End Times. He passed away on August 19, 2013.
