Biography

René Cardona was a prominent figure in Mexican cinema during the Golden Age, born in Havana, Cuba on October 8, 1905. He transitioned from medical studies to film production, writing and directing his own Spanish-language film, Sombras habaneras, in Hollywood before relocating to Mexico in 1932. There, he debuted as an actor and married Julieta Zacarías, supporting her brother Miguel's direction on notable films.
