Carl Sagan was a renowned American astronomer, cosmologist, and science communicator who made groundbreaking contributions to our understanding of the universe. He pioneered research on extraterrestrial life, proposed the greenhouse effect for Venus' surface temperatures, and co-created the Voyager Golden Record and Pioneer plaque.
