Mabel Cheung Yuen-Ting is a film director from Hong Kong, one of the leading directors in Hong Kong cinema. Elected "Freshman's Queen" while studying at the University of Hong Kong, she represented Lady Ho Tung Hall and HKU as an avid sportswoman. Her notable films include the "migration trilogy": Illegal Immigrant (1985), An Autumn's Tale (1987), and Eight Taels of Gold (1989), collaboration with writer Alex Law on The Soong Sisters (1997).
