George Grossmith
Biography
George Grossmith Jr. was a British actor, theatre producer and manager, director, playwright and songwriter, renowned for his work in Edwardian musical comedies and 1920s musicals. He brought "cabaret" and "revues" to the London stage, innovating the genre. Born in London in 1874, Grossmith made his debut at 18 in the musical Haste to the Wedding and went on to star in numerous hit shows, including The Toreador and Our Miss Gibbs.
