She transitioned to acting in explicit hardcore movies in the mid-1970s, appearing in over 50 X-rated features before retiring in the mid-1980s. Bovee was inducted into both the AVN Hall of Fame and the XRCO Hall of Fame for her contributions to adult cinema.
