Doug Tompkins

Biography

Douglas Rainsford Tompkins was a visionary entrepreneur and conservationist who co-founded North Face Inc and Esprit, among other ventures. He dedicated his life to environmental activism, establishing the Foundation for Deep Ecology and Tompkins Conservation. A passionate outdoorsman and filmmaker, Tompkins brought his commitment to nature to the big screen in the 2010 documentary "180° South".
