Felipe Rose

Biography

Felipe Rose, born on January 12, 1954, in Manhattan to a Puerto Rican mother and father of Lakota and Apache descent, began his career as a nightclub dancer and bartender. He was discovered by French producer Jacques Morali and became the first recruit for Village People, performing as "The Indian" from 1977 until 2017. Rose launched a solo career after leaving the group, releasing singles such as "Going Back to My Roots."
