Fred Demara

Biography

Ferdinand Waldo Demara Jr., known locally as "Fred," was an American impostor born in Lawrence, Massachusetts in 1921. His extraordinary impersonations included numerous careers and professions, which led to both successes and run-ins with the law, including a stint in prison for a teaching job. Demara's motivations were reportedly rooted in "Rascality, pure rascality." Not much about his life beyond these exploits remains known.
