George Tabori was a Hungarian-born writer and theatre director, born György Tábori in Budapest in 1914. His life was marked by displacement and loss, including the murder of his father in Auschwitz and subsequent exile from Nazi Germany. He later became a prominent translator and screenwriter in the US, working with notable figures like Bertolt Brecht and Alfred Hitchcock, before sharing his own work with American colleges and universities.
