Biography

Marina Abramović is a Serbian performance artist born on November 30, 1946, in Belgrade. Active for over three decades, she has pioneered the concept of performance art, exploring the relationship between performer and audience, body limits, and mental possibilities. Known as the "grandmother of performance art," her work has reshaped contemporary performance art, including founding the Marina Abramović Institute in 2007.
