Bill Ayers

Biography

Bill Ayers is a former American professor and community organizer, best known for co-founding the Weather Underground in 1969. As a leader of the far-left militant organization, Ayers was involved in a campaign of bombings against public buildings opposing U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War, resulting in the deaths of three group members. He later became a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago and sparked controversy during Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign over his connections to the candidate.
