Biography

John Lester Nash Jr., born August 19, 1940, in Houston, Texas, was an American singer and songwriter known for his iconic hit "I Can See Clearly Now" (1972). A pioneer in reggae music, he recorded in Kingston, Jamaica, as one of the first non-Jamaican artists. He also had a successful acting career, starring in films like Deep Blue Sea (1999), Grosse Pointe Blank (1997), and Take a Giant Step (1959).
