Biography

Holly Woodlawn was a transgender Puerto Rican actress and Warhol superstar known for her roles in Trash (1970) and Women in Revolt (1971), as well as her appearance in Lou Reed's hit song "Walk on the Wild Side" (1972). She published the memoir A Low Life in High Heels in 1991. In addition to film, Woodlawn had a career in cabaret, showcasing her talents both before and after transitioning.
